Meyerhoff Show Horses

These past few weeks have been very busy for Meyerhoff Show Horses! After Danica returned from the Atlanta Summerfest show, Bobby packed up and made the long drive up to Richland, Michigan for the Richland Park International Horse Trials. This trip is always worth the drive, as Richland is truly a destination event on the summer/fall calendar, and he was thrilled to be back here.

Cooling Rascal off is a team effort!

Bobby rode both Fortuna and Rascal Rap in the CIC2* division at Richland. After their great trips at the Windridge Horse Trials earlier in the month, both horses felt ready for the week ahead! They handled the trip well and kicked off the competition with gorgeous dressage tests to start the week on a high note, and both jumped clear show jumping rounds to put themselves in a fantastic position heading into cross country!

While Bobby elected to withdraw Fortuna before cross country and save her for another day, Rascal Rap stepped up to the challenge and tackled the course with ease. He jumped clear and only added a handful of time penalties to his dressage score to finish in fourth place in a massive division! Bobby was so proud of how well Rascal Rap handled the challenging course. It was a great kick off to the fall season, and Bobby is excited to see what's to come for these exciting youngsters.

As they celebrate their weekend, Bobby and Danica would like to extend a huge thank you to all of Meyerhoff Show Horses’ owners, sponsors, friends, family, and everyone who has supported them along the way. They’re excited to continue sharing their journey with each and every one of you!

Danica flying at Charleston!

Danica cleaned up at the Charleston Summer Classic horse show. This was her first experience at this signature summer event of the Charleston area, and she was incredibly impressed. All of the horses enjoyed the venue, and she couldn't have asked for a better setting so close to the beach!

To start off her week, Danica rode her own Casanova II to a first and a third place finish in the 1.15 meter jumpers. This talented gelding was jumping out of his skin, and Danica was thrilled to be along for the ride.

Danica also rode the European Warmblood Stallion Zenturm's EWSZ Mozart in the 1.10 meter classes, and he came home with a first and third as well! This talented horse is really coming into his own, and she can't wait to see what the future holds for him. He showed his class in Charleston, that is for sure!

To finish out the show, Danica and Dunlavin's Token enjoyed two trips in the 1.20 meter classes and picked up a first and a second place! It was easy to tell how excited Token was to be back in the show ring, and he tried his heart out for Danica as he always does. It was just icing on the cake of an already great week to be back in action with her partner. They will definitely be back to this super venue!

In addition to her great competition results, Danica and Bobby have been hard at work at home with their young horses, who have all been progressing enormously. They are both so proud, and they can't wait to show off this talented group of youngsters in the ring when the time is right. Check out what Cece thinks of crossrails - that's scope!

Bobby has also been teaching clinics in both Michigan and Kentucky and has really enjoyed seeing all the participants' progress. One of his favorite things to do is teach and it is so rewarding to be able to teach such talented riders. It sure has been a fun summer!

Up next for Danica was the big Atlanta Summerfest horse show at the gorgeous Chattahoochee Hills Horse Park in Fairburn, Georgia. It is a venue which Bobby and Danica frequently compete at, and she was looking forward to returning! Danica had another incredible week and was thrilled with all of her mounts. Cass jumped a few more clears in the 1.15 meter classes and brought home two second place finishes in his classes! Token also took home multiple top placings including a second place in the Grand Prix! What a weekend!

As Danica showed at Atlanta Summerfest, Bobby was excited to compete at the Windridge Horse Trials last weekend! He rode Fortuna and Cabin Master both to wins in their Preliminary and Training divisions respectively. It was the perfect way to kick off the fall season and prepare for the upcoming Richland Park Horse Trials. While it is going to be a long drive to Richland, Michigan for the Richland Park Horse Trials where he is excited to ride both Fortuna and Rascal Rap in the CIC2*. He looking forward to competing at both incredible venues and is excited for the next few weeks.

As they celebrate the past few weeks and prepare for the weeks ahead, Bobby and Danica would like to extend a huge thank you to all of Meyerhoff Show Horses’ owners, sponsors, friends, family, and everyone who has supported them along the way. They’re excited to continue sharing their journey with each and every one of you!

While the barn has been busy, Danica and Bobby do still have a few openings for training and sale horses. They have an incredibly successful record, and horses truly come into their own under the specialized training that both Bobby and Danica provide. It is not everywhere that your horse can be exposed to the highest level of training from not one but two top riders in eventing and show jumping! Check out this recent testimonial from Jana Lyle Ellerbusch on purchase of Heavenly SCF from Meyerhoffs:

"I had all those horse-shopping horror stories in the back of my head as I embarked on my first ever horse shopping trip this past spring but luckily I ended up at Bobby and Danica’s on my third day of looking and I was done! Heavenly wasn’t exactly what I thought I would come home with (a little greener & only 15h!) but I knew I was going to love her from Bobby’s description of her personality and I did. She is the perfect match for me – in size and temperament and will take me as far as I want to go. Bobby and Danica made the entire process so easy, allowing plenty of time for the initial trial, meeting me with my trainer the next day so we could cross-country school, always being available to answer questions during the process and to this day, several months after I bought her. I love the fact that she wasn’t just a sales horse to them and they still follow and care about her journey with me."

Team Meyerhoff's goal is to find the perfect match for every horse in their barn, and they will ensure your horse is going only to the perfect home. Contact Bobby and Danica today to discuss a specialized training and sales program for your horse!

On the competition side, Danica has seen her months of dedicated training pay off with multiple successful trips to the Tryon International Equestrian Center for their summer show series. All of her horses put in lovely and confident in the high-atmosphere environment at Tryon and delivered several top finishes. Danica rode sales horse Rudolf, to a second place finish in the 1.10 meter jumpers and he also jumped his first 1.15 meter jumper class! Not to be out done, Casanova was also great with double clears in all her 1.15 classes. In addition, one of Danica's students, Corinna Kolschowsky, took home multiple wins with Joan Goswell's RF Estella in the .90 meter jumpers.

Danica also had a special ride at Tryon on her own Dunlavin's Token! This was his first time back in the show ring since the Kentucky CCI4*, and she could tell he was excited and ready to go. As icing on the cake, they took home a sixth place finish in a massive 1.20 meter class to cap off an incredible week.

This past month also marked the end of the spring season for Bobby. He headed north to the Bromont International Horse Trials at the beginning of June with his own Albano, Fortuna, and Rascal Rap. The long drive proved to be well worth it! Fortuna continued her streak of fantastic 2* finishes with another top finish in the CIC2* division, and Albano made his CCI1* debut but certainly didn't show a bit on inexperience with an eighth place finish against tough competition. To cap off the weekend, Rascal Rap put in a stellar performance in the CCI2*, adding only a handful of cross country time faults to his superb 43.9 dressage score to finish in third place! Bobby was so thrilled with the weekend at this lovely event, and it was the perfect way to cap off his spring.

In between competitions, both Bobby and Danica have been teaching numerous clinics all over the United States. They really enjoy getting to watch participants progress over the course of the clinic and find it so rewarding to see the smiles on everyone's faces when they conquer something they never thought they could. They both have a few open dates left for the summer, so be sure to contact them today to get a weekend booked!

This week, Danica is riding at the Charleston Summer Classic Horse Show. She is so excited for the trip down to South Carolina as she has yet to ride at this prestigious venue, and Bobby can't wait to watch Token back in the ring with Danica. Stay tuned for live scores and updates!
